Globe Exhibition takes families back in time

Families paying a visit to Shakespeare’s Globe on 9 and 10 October will get the chance to take part in some special activities in the Globe Exhibition.

The Globe’s Activity Weekend includes live sword-fighting demonstrations, Elizabethan costume dressing and printing demonstrations using a full-sized recreation of a 17th century printing press.

The activities complement the permanent exhibition which includes interactive displays about the use of music, costume and special effects in Shakespeare’s day.

Visitors to the Globe Exhibition can also take a half-hour tour of Shakespeare’s Globe, led by a guide who will tell stories about the original 1599 Globe and the present reconstruction.

Also this month, the Globe Exhibition will hold special storytelling sessions for children and families during half term week, 25 to 31 October.

Though the Exhibition is open all year round, the current theatre season at Shakespeare’s Globe ends on 9 October.

More information about the Activity Weekend and half-term events can be found on the Shakespeare’s Globe website.
