Gillian Anderson and Lily James to star in All About Eve

The West End is abuzz today with news of a brand new show coming to town. And, that buzz is All About Eve. The long-awaited stage adaptation of the 1950s film is coming to the Noël Coward Theatre for a strictly limited 14-week run and will star TV and film megastars, Gillian Anderson and Lily James.

Sonia Friedman Productions and Fox Stage Productions have announced that Olivier and Tony Award-winner Ivo van Hove has adapted and directed the iconic, multi-Oscar-winning film for the stage. The original film was based on Mary Orr’s play The Wisdom Of Eve and it remains the only film to receive four female acting nominations at the Academy Awards.

All About Eve tells the story of Margo Channing (Gillian) a legend and true star of the theatre. The spotlight is hers, always has been, but now there’s Eve (Lily), her biggest fan. Young, beautiful Eve. The golden girl, the girl next door. But you know all about Eve… don’t you…?

The story is a razor-sharp, unsettling exposé of the eternal obsession at the heart of show-business. Lifting the curtain on a world of jealousy and ambition, this new production asks why our fascination with celebrity, youth and identity never seems to get old.

Starring alongside Gillian and Lily will be BAFTA Award-winner Monica Dolan as Karen, Sheila Reid as Birdie, and Rhashan Stone as Lloyd.

The world premiere of All About Eve opens on 2 February 2019. There will be 20,000 tickets available for £25 or under throughout the run and all tickets will go on sale later this month.

There is nothing that you need to do if your performance has been cancelled, but we do ask for your patience.

If you have booked directly with the theatre or show website for an affected performance, please be assured that they will contact you directly to arrange an exchange for a later date, a credit note/voucher or a refund. We look forward to welcoming you back into our theatres as soon as we are allowed to resume performances. In the meantime stay safe and healthy.
