Former Pop Idol star and West End leading man Gareth Gates is to lead the cast of gala concert Momentous Musicals, which plays at the New Wimbledon theatre on 14 July.
The star, who has sold more than 3 million singles in the UK and starred as Joseph in the London production of Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, is joined in the concert by star of Hairspray, We Will Rock You and Jersey Boys Rachael Wooding.
The one-off concert, produced by Speckulation Entertainment, a company with a reputation for highlighting musical theatre’s up and coming performers, features a selection of songs from many of the stage’s best-loved shows, including West Side Story, The Phantom Of The Opera, Wicked and Miss Saigon.
Gates and Wooding will be joined on the New Wimbledon stage by a live band and ensemble of dancers, who will be performing the choreography of Racky Plews, who also provided the dance moves for the West End’s Respect La Diva.
