The West End debut of David Walliams’ bestselling book, Gangsta Granny, will arrive at the Garrick Theatre on 26 July 2017.

To celebrate their 25th anniversary next year, Birmingham Stage Company (Horrible Histories Live On Stage) have announced the West End debut of David Walliams’ Gangsta Granny. The smash-hit production, which was recently nominated for a UK Theatre Award for Best Show For Children And Young People, will open at the Garrick Theatre on 26 July 2017, with a press night on 1 August, and runs until 3 September, following a UK tour.

David Walliams said: “I’m delighted that my Gangsta Granny is making her West End debut. It’s my most popular book so it will be wonderful to see the Birmingham Stage Company’s terrific adaptation in dazzling neon next summer.”

Gangsta Granny tells the story of Ben, who stays with his granny every Friday night. Ben knows that means only one thing – staying with Granny! There will be cabbage soup, cabbage pie and cabbage cake and Ben knows one thing for sure – it’s going to be sooooooooo boring! But what Ben doesn’t know is that Granny has a secret – and Friday nights are about to get more exciting than he could ever imagine, as he embarks on the adventure of a lifetime with his very own Gangsta Granny!
