“Accio swanky opening night pictures”, we cried – and the Harry Potter And The Cursed Child gala night delivered in abundance.
With the red carpet rolled out in front of the Palace Theatre on Saturday, the Boy Wizard’s official stage opening attracted glamorous guests the likes of Mayor of London Sadiq Khan and performers Andrew Scott, Laura Carmichael, Lesley Manville, Maria Friedman and David Baddiel, as well as the creative team behind the acclaimed show, including producers Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender, alongside author J.K. Rowling herself.
Subject to critical acclaim upon the release of reviews last week, with Official London Theatre describing the show as “a tremendous theatrical feat”, the official world premiere night coincided with the widespread release of the dual-part play’s script, penned by Rowling, Let The Right One In’s Jack Thorne, and show director John Tiffany.
