Full casting has been announced for the return of Dr Seuss’ The Lorax to The Old Vic theatre, with Simon Paisley Day reprising his role as The Once-ler from the show’s critically acclaimed 2015 run.

Playing for a limited run from Sunday 15 October 2017, the rollickingly funny and inspiring family show sees the go-getting Once-ler come face to face with the magical Lorax in a battle over the beloved truffula trees and the whole of Paradise Valley.

Day will be joined by David Ricardo-Pearce, who will play the famous titular mustachioed critter, while the full cast will also include Michael Ajao, Joseph Alessi, Josh Baker, Jack Beale, Hannah Fairclough, Owain Gwynn, Wendy Mae Brown, Kirsty Malpass, Kerri Norville, Ellena Vincent and Silas Wyatt-Barke.

Adapted for the stage by David Greig with music and lyrics by Charlie Fink and designs by multi-Olivier Award winning Rob Howell, Dr. Seuss’s The Lorax is a brilliant riot of eye-popping colour, gorgeous puppetry and infectious music to enchant adults and children alike.

The Olivier-nominated show will run for 3 weeks at the venue until Sunday 5 November, prior to international dates in Canada and the USA.

Official London Theatre said of the show in 2015: “This family hit, in rhyme and in song / With one vital message, deserves to run long.”
