Ben Adams, former star of 90s pop group A1, will launch his new musical Eugenius! in a concert performance on 29 June at the London Palladium.

The new musical, co-written by Chris Wilkins, will star Harry Potter and Star Wars actor Warwick Davis, double Olivier Award winner David Bedella, Kinky Boots’ Amy Lennox, Mrs Henderson Presents’ Samuel Holmes and Love Never Dies’ Summer Strallen when it takes to the Palladium’s stage for the one-off performance.

In addition to its cast of West End musical stars, comedian and former Spamalot star Marcus Brigstocke will play the Narrator with entertainment legend Brian Blessed providing a guest voiceover.

Set in the 80s, Eugenius! is a tale of teenage love. Janey is in love with Eugene, but he always has his head in a comic and is more interested in creating own superhero. Against all odds, Eugene’s creations get him to Hollywood and into his own intergalactic battle.

Speaking about the new show Davis, who is also producing it, said: “We are really excited to be bringing a brand new, original production to the London stage. The performance on 29 June will give the audience a chance to experience this new 80s-inspired musical before it is staged in the West End as a full production next year. We have a hugely talented cast and production team, and the music is just phenomenal.”

That talented team includes former Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre Artistic Director Ian Talbot, who co-directs the production with actor/director Michael Jibson, and sound design by Olivier Award winner Gareth Owen.
