Winter is basically here and we still don’t have an official date for the new Game Of Thrones. But don’t worry. In just a matter of weeks, you’ll be able to see Kit Harington perform live on stage in True West. He’ll be starring alongside Johnny Flynn – the star of Love Sick and the highly-acclaimed film, Beasts – as warring brothers in the Sam Shepard classic.

Ahead of the show’s opening later this month, we have a sneak peek at the boys in action along with some of the other cast members.

This will be the first time True West will be staged in the West End. The ferociously funny modern classic will be the first UK production of Sam Shephard’s to be played since his death last summer.

Starring alongside Kit and Johnny will be Madeleine Potter and Donald Sage Mackay. Madeleine will play Mom – the mother of warring brothers Austin (Kit) and Lee (Johnny) – and Donald will take the role of Hollywood producer, Saul Kimmer, the cause of the current rift between the siblings.

Austin is working on a movie script that he has sold to producer Saul Kimmer when Lee stumbles back into his life. Never content to watch from the sidelines, he pitches his own idea to Kimmer, an action which has far-reaching consequences…

True West will be directed by the Olivier-nominated Matthew Dunster (Hangmen). Jon Bausor will be heading up Set and Costume Design, Joshua Carr will be in charge of Lighting Design and Ian Dickinson will lead Sound Design. In addition to starring as Lee, Johnny has composed original music for the production.

This is the first time Kit has been on stage in the West End since his appearance in Doctor Faustus in 2016.

Johnny last starred in Hangmen at the Royal Court and Wyndham’s Theatre in 2016.

True West will play a limited season starting on 23 November.
