We’ve got a sneak peak at the rehearsals for touching musical The Girl From The North Country, which will return to the West End for 8 weeks only at the Gielgud Theatre.
Written and directed by Conor McPherson, The Girl From The North Country tells the story of the inhabitants of a weathered guesthouse in a Minnesotan port town. This moving musical features the songs of Bob Dylan, telling a heartbreaking yet hopeful story about family and love.
Set in 1934, the wayward group of characters holed up in this crumbing building move in and out of each others lives – all on different paths and only passing through.
A story full of passion and humanity set in Depression-era America gives the haunting songs of Bob Dylan new meanings and brings together an unlikely group of characters.
Ferdy Roberts as local physician Dr Walker narrates the tale of everyday struggle in Depression-era America as a cast of characters swing in and out.

The Girl From The North Country will preview from 10 December at the Gielgud Theatre. Following a successful debut at the Old Vic in 2017, the production ran at the Noël Coward Theatre before transferring to a sell-out run in New York.
The production won the 2018 Olivier Awards for Best Actress in a Musical and Best Supporting Actress in a Musical as well as being nominated in the Best New Musical, Outstanding Achievement in Music and Best Actor in a Musical categories.
A unique piece of musical theatre and a fitting tribute to the impressive catalogue of music legend Bob Dylan, The Girl From The North Country is not to be missed.
