Fashion Victim makes London return

Fashion Victim The Musical is to bring its tuneful tale of catwalk camp back to London this spring, playing a limited season at the May Fair Theatre.

The tale of bold ambition, which brought its tongue-in-cheek story to the Cinema Museum last summer, struts back into London on 1 April before pausing, looking moody, throwing in some Blue Steel, then strutting out on 12 April.

Set in the fickle world of fashion, Toby Rose’s show follows Mimi Steele, an unlikely fashionista who uses everyone and everything she can to fulfil her ambitions and squirm her way into the limelight.

Rosie Glossop, who previously played Mimi during the show’s run at the Cinema Museum, returns to the role for the May Fair season.

Glossop is joined in the production by Jonathan D Ellis, Matthew Wellman, Sophie May Whitfield and Adam Redford.

Fashion Victim The Musical will not be the only show inspired by the world of designers to run in London this spring. The much anticipated McQueen, which explores the world and imagination of Alexander McQueen, opens at the St James Theatre in May.

Written by James Phillips and directed by John Caird, co-director of the record-breaking Les Misérables, McQueen promises to take audiences into the “fairy story landscape of McQueen’s mind” as it tells the story of a girl who breaks into the designer’s home to steal a dress.
