Everyone loves a Malteser – and that seems doubly true in the brand-new adaptation of the young adult novel, The Falcon’s Malteser, playing at The Vaults this summer.

A cast of four will play dozens of characters in this comedy filled with slapstick, comic songs and even a fully-realised car chase.

The Falcon’s Malteser is the story of The Diamond Boys Detective Agency which comprises of Tim – the world’s worst private investigator – and his clever younger brother Nick. They’re put to work when a solitary box of Maltesers is delivered by a miniature Mexican. But what’s so special about these chocolates that half of London’s criminal underworld is willing to kill for them? Tim and Nick have to find out.

The much-loved story by Anthony Horowitz has been adapted for the stage by New Old Friends and is presented by James Seabright. It received rave reviews during its run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2015 and was named one of the Best Family Shows by The Guardian.

New Old Friends is an award-winning theatre company which was founded in 2008. It’s run by husband and wife team Feargus Woods Dunlop and Heather Westwell. Their previous shows include Crimes Against Christmas, Crimes On The Christmas Express, Crimes Under The Sun, and Crimes On The Nile.

James Seabright is an Olivier Award-winning theatre producer whose current shows include Adam Kay’s This Is Going To Hurt, Black Is The Color Of My Voice, Potted Potter, The Crown Dual and Trainspotting Live.

The Falcon’s Malteser will play from 17 July – 25 August.
