Priscilla Queen Of The Desert The Musical, which opened at the Palace theatre in March 2009, is now booking until 26 February 2011.
The exuberant tale of three drag artists embarking on a journey across the outback in a battered old bus is also giving its cast a spring clean. From 8 March, Don Gallagher will replace Tony Sheldon as Bernadette, joining current leading men Jason Donovan and Oliver Thornton.
Gallagher, who previously appeared in the West End productions of The Producers, Les Misérables and Martin Guerre, is not the only newcomer; Portia Emare and Charlotte Riby join Emma Lindars as the Divas, and Newley Aucutt joins the cast as Miss Understanding.
Priscilla Queen Of The Desert The Musical will also be altering its performance schedule during the summer months, dropping its Monday 19:30 performance and adding a Sunday 15:00 matinee between 6 June and 5 September.
London’s pinkest production, Legally Blonde The Musical, which opened earlier this month, has also extended its stay at the Savoy theatre. Tickets can now be bought for performances up to 20 February 2011.
The show, which was previously a hit on Broadway, stars Sheridan Smith as homecoming queen Elle Woods. When her boyfriend dumps her for someone serious, Woods ditches the credit cards and heads to Harvard Law, discovering more about herself along the way.
Based on the Reese Witherspoon film, Legally Blonde The Musical also stars pop star Duncan James, former Eastenders actress Jill Halfpenny, Peter Davison, Alex Gaumond and reality TV stars Aoife Mulholland and Susan McFadden.
