Exclusive: Branagh’s Harlequinade images

First Published 7 September 2015, Last Updated 8 September 2015

Kenneth Branagh is back in London’s West End. We’re sure you know this. His Kenneth Branagh Theatre Company season was launched back in April when the acclaimed stage and screen actor/director spoke to us about his exciting new project.

In what seems like a blink of the eye, months have passed and we’re heading towards the launch of the first two (maybe three) plays, The Winter’s Tale and Harlequinade / All On Her Own, which will play in rep from mid-October.

As if we weren’t already more excited than a Halloween-loving fireworks enthusiast about the onset of autumn, the KBTC (yes, we’re on nickname terms with Ken and co.) have today released stunning artwork of the cast preparing for Harlequinade. By sending them out, they essentially lit our blue touch paper and withdrew to a safe distance.

Rattigan’s Harlequinade, which stars Mr B alongside a cast including Zoë Wanamaker, John Dagleish, Miranda Raison, Tom Bateman and Jessie Buckley, is a behind-the-scenes theatrical tale of a company attempting to stage The Winter’s Tale and Romeo And Juliet. What better way to celebrate, then, than by releasing images of the cast appearing in bulb-surrounded dressing room mirrors.

You may have seen them as a group, but Official London Theatre has the exclusive on full sized single shots, to check out the cast in all their beautiful glory. See them in the gallery at the top of the page.

Harlequinade plays as a double bill with All On Her Own, a one-woman monologue in which Wanamaker plays a woman with a heart-breaking and sinister secret.

You can book for Harlequinade / All On Her Own, and pay no booking fee, through us here.
