Festive comedy turned musical Elf The Musical makes a triumphant return to London this winter in a brand new production at the Dominion Theatre. Based on the 2003 film starring Will Ferrell and Zoey Deschanel; the musical follows one of Santa’s elves, Buddy, as he realises he is not in fact an elf but a human, and heads to New York to find his father and find his place. An off-the-wall comedy turned musical – what more could you need this winter?

Who is in the Elf The Musical 2022 cast?

The cast of Elf The Musical has now been announced! Simon Lipkin will play Buddy and Georgina Castle will play Jovie in the much-loved Christmas classic comedy.

You may have seen Simon Lipkin around, as his extensive West End theatre credits include; The Wind in the Willows, Guys and Dolls, The Lorax, Rock of Ages, Avenue Q and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Georgina Castle’s has most recently played Marie in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s recent production of Cinderella at the Gillian Lynne Theatre; Doralee Rhodes in 9 to 5: The Musical at the Savoy Theatre; Sophie Sheridan in Mamma Mia! at the Novello Theatre and Lisa Houseman in the UK Tour of Dirty Dancing.

Tom Chambers will be playing Walter Hobbs, Buddy’s newly discovered dad. Tom Chambers’ credits include Holby City, Waterloo Road and Father Brown. On the West End he’s played both Jerry Travers in Top Hat & Bob Wallis in White Christmas.

Rebecca Lock will play Emily Hobbs. Her theatre credits include School of Rock, Curtains, Heathers, Mamma Mia!, The Phantom of the Opera, Avenue Q and Mary Poppins.

Also in the cast are Kim Ismay (Wicked, Mamma Mia!) who will play Debs, Nicholas Pound (Cats, Les Miserables, Evita) who will play Santa and Dermot Canavan (Hairspray, Fiddler On The Roof) who will play Store Manager.

Who are the creative team behind Elf The Musical London?

Elf has a book by Tony Award-winners Thomas Meehan (Annie, The Producers, Hairspray) and Bob Martin (The Drowsy Chaperone), with songs by Tony Award nominees Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin (The Wedding Singer).

The new production will be directed by Philip Wm. McKinley, with original set and costume design by Tim Goodchild, choreography by Liam Steel, lighting design by Patrick Woodroffe, sound by Gareth Owen, video design by Ian William Galloway and wig and hair design by Richard Mawbey. Casting is by Grindrod Burton Casting.

When was Elf The Musical on before?
