Whether you’ve caught coronation fever, or you’re just excited about the extra bank holiday, here’s everything you need to know about theatre and Theatreland over the Coronation Bank Holiday, 6 – 8 May.

First of all, if you’re travelling in to London that weekend, check out some of the great theatre that’s on offer! A bunch of shows have moved their Saturday matinees, or added matinees on Friday or Sunday so have a look and see if you can squeeze in a show! If you’re feeling spontaneous, head to the TKTS booth or website on the day to find some great discounts.

If you’re travelling in to see a show, check TfL for any disruption to travel. St James’s Park station will be closed and Hyde Park Corner will be exit-only during the busiest period of the day. Some bus routes may have changed or may end before their usual destination. You can find further info on the TfL page here.

London will be very busy, so do allow extra time to travel and consider walking some of the way – some of the distances between tube stops are shorter than you think!

If you’re already in London to see a show on Saturday evening, why not head in early and catch some of the coronation? There will be viewing areas set up along the procession as well as huge television screens in Hyde Park, Green Park and St James’s Park. Find out more info on the coronation website here.
