All About Eve to be broadcast in cinemas

If you haven’t heard All About Eve, you will do in the coming months! Plans have been announced to broadcast Ivo van Hove’s eagerly anticipated stage adaptation, starring Gillian Anderson and Lily James, to cinemas across the UK and internationally in April.

Broadcast by National Theatre Live, which will screen the production to over 2,500 venues across 65 countries – including 700 cinemas on UK shores – All About Eve will be available to watch on Thursday 11 April. You can find a list of participating cinemas here.

And with just under two weeks to go until previews begin at the Noël Coward Theatre, excitement is building for the play, which is based on the seminal 1950 Twentieth Century Fox film and Mary Orr’s play The Wisdom Of Eve.

All About Eve follows star of the stage Margo Channing, whose legendary status treading the boards attracts the attention of young, beautiful Eve – her biggest fan. But Eve isn’t necessarily the golden girl she portrays, and razor-sharp revelations unfold about the obsession which lies at the heart of show business.

As well as Gillian and Lily, the cast includes the likes of Monica Dolan, Ian Drysdale, Tsion Habte, Jessie Mei Li, Julian Ovenden, Sheila Reid, Rhashan Stone, Stanley Townsend and Philip Voyzey.

Looking to see it in person? Previews begin on 2 February, with the final performance scheduled for 11 May.
