Update 11 October: Please note that this run has now been cancelled.

Comic-book fever is still taking over the world and the latest superhero to sweep audiences off their feet is flying into the West End later this month. Due to phenomenal demand, Eugenius! is transferring to the Ambassadors Theatre for a limited 10-week run.

The upbeat, feel-good, 80s-inspired show will be concluding its second run at the Other Palace Theatre on 21 October before jumping over to its new West End home the week after.

Telling the story of Eugene – a high school student who spends all his spare time writing his comic book about Tough Man, a hero from a distant world. After being forced to enter a competition, Eugene has his story turned into a Hollywood movie. Best friends Janey and Feris join him as he reaches for the stars, finds the superhero within, saves the world from earthbound villains – and those from distant galaxies – and along the way, falls in love!

The hilarious show has been written by Ben Adams (of A1 fame) and Chris Wilkins and has some of the catchiest tunes you’ll ever hear in musical theatre.

Producer Warwick Davis, the legendary Star Wars and Harry Potter actor, said: “We are thrilled to present Eugenius! in the West End – what an incredible, epic journey we have been on. At the beginning of 2018, Eugenius! had a buzz-filled, triumphant six-week premiere at The Other Palace. The reaction was so incredible that we were invited back for another season… With many fans – or, rather, Eugenies – seeing it multiple times, their love for the show, the characters and earworm songs created a wonderful online community and the social media reaction has completely blown us all away. That buzz and army of supporters is now propelling us to the heart of the West End and we look forward to seeing audiences on their feet at every performance, punching the air and singing in unison, ‘Go Eugenius!’.”

Eugenius! will play at Ambassadors Theatre from 27 October – 5 January.
