Dolly Parton has announced this morning that the one, the only, the Hoff will join the cast of 9 To 5 The Musical at the Savoy Theatre from 2 December 2019 to 8 February 2020.

Playing Franklin Hart Jnr, David Hasselhoff joins Caroline Sheen as Violet Newstead, Chelsea Halfpenny as Judy Bernly, Natalie McQueen as Doralee Rhodes and Bonnie Langford as Roz Keith. He takes over the role from Brian Conley, who has played the role of the sleazy office boss since 9 To 5 opened on the West End back in February.

This isn’t David’s first turn on the UK stage – he played ‘Hoff the Hook’ in the New Wimbledon Theatre production of pantomime Peter Pan in 2010, and reprised the role at the Manchester Opera House in 2012.

Dolly Parton said today ‘I am so pleased that David is joining our show. He will be a terrific addition to an already amazing cast, the audiences are going to love him just as much as I do! Get ready to be Hassled, Hoff !’

David Hasselhoff said today ‘I went to see the show back in June and I thought it was ‘Hofftastic’.  That’s when I knew I wanted to be part of it. Franklin Hart Jnr. is going to be a fun part for me to play and I’m looking forward to being back on stage in the UK’.

Based on the cult 80s film, 9 to 5 the musical follows workmates Doralee, Violet and Judy’s attempt to cope with their arrogant, sexist boss.

The three very different women band together to take down their terrible boss and take control of the office. Which works fine… until the CEO turns up! Featuring new songs and your old favourites, all written by the Queen of Country herself, it’s a feel-good whirlwind not to be missed.
