Dance in the park with Rambert

Rambert Dance Company has teamed up with the Royal Parks once again this year to offer a one-week creative dance project in Regent’s Park called Outside.

Held in August, the project is open to young people aged 11-14 living in London who enjoy dancing and being outside. Participants will get the chance to dance to live music, explore the park and its wildlife, and create and perform a brand new dance work. Dancers from Rambert will lead daily classes to develop dance and fitness skills based around pieces from Rambert’s dance repertoire and new work, while staff from the Royal Parks will hold sessions where participants can learn about the wildlife in Regent’s Park. The week concludes with a final dance performance incorporating the week’s experiences.

Most of all, participants get the chance to meet new people and have a fun and challenging experience in the beauty of Regent’s Park. Previous dance experience is not required, but energy and enthusiasm are essential.

Outside is held this year on 13-17 August and again on 20-24 August. The week is free to attend but applications must be accompanied by a £20 deposit, refundable at the end of the week. For more information and to apply, visit www.royalparks.org.uk/outside
