Making your way to the office after the bank holiday is as far away from a party as you can get. But when Gloria Estefan offers you to join a conga, surely the rhythm is bound to get you? The upbeat dance wasn’t just to cheer up commuters on the way to work after the three-day weekend. It’s to celebrate the imminent arrival of her new musical On Your Feet! which is opening next month.

The show tells the true love story of Gloria and Emilio Estefan. It charts their story from Cuba to Miami, then onto worldwide fame. It features all of Gloria’s iconic songs including Rhythm Is Gonna Get You, Conga, Get On Your Feet, Don’t Want To Lose You, and 1-2-3.

Christie Prades will play Gloria Estefan, George Ioannides will play Emilio Estefan and for certain performances, the role of Gloria Estefan will be played by Philippa Stefani.

On Your Feet! is coming to London direct from its Broadway run. It’s directed by two-time Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell (Kinky Boots, Legally Blonde), with choreography by Olivier Award-winner Sergio Trujillo (Jersey Boys) and book by Academy Award-winner Alexander Dinelaris (Birdman).

On Your Feet is set to play a limited run until 31 August.
