Christmas presents for theatre fans

It’s Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (well, nearly)

Tis the season to be jolly…and run around shops panic-buying anything that vaguely resembles a thoughtful gift, so friends and family won’t want to return it Boxing Day.

But before you buy that pair of socks again, or another box of bath soaps that your friends don’t want (trust us, they’ll get enough from their grandparents), why not check out this list of top Christmas presents for theatre fans.

Presents for theatre fansTheatre Tokens Gift Card

The greatest present of all is the gift of choice, so why not let your friends and family decide what gift they want from you with our Theatre Tokens!

These national gift vouchers can be used in over 240 venues nationwide, including all of London’s West End theatres. And the best part is, there’s no expiry date, so forgetful Auntie Sue can still use them when she finds them in her purse next year!

Presents for Waitress fans

Katharine McPhee as Jenna in Waitress

It’s safe to say there’s quite a lot of excitement around the arrival of Waitress to the West End. If you’ve got a friend who can’t stop talking about / belting out songs from the hit-musical, then we’ve found their perfect Christmas gift that will (briefly) stop them singing.

The official Waitress recipe book, entitled, “Sugar, Butter, Flour” shows how to make 3 dozen different types of pie from the hit musical, just like Jenna.

Written by the expert herself, using this book you’ll be able to bake for any occasion. Whether you’re baking for a broken heart, new beginnings or a new milestone in your life, there’s a pie for that.

Presents for Wicked fans

There’s no shortage of Wicked merchandise out there, but if you’re looking for something as special as Glinda and Elphaba’s friendship then these illustrated bags are perfect.

The cartooned Glinda and Elphaba are available on tote bags, drawstring bags, laptop sleeves or studio pouches, so there’s more than one way for your Wicked-obsessed friend to show to the world that they like to defy gravity.

This artist also does Little Shop of Horrors in the same merchandise, for those who are fond of green plants rather than green witches.

Presents for Les Misérables fans

Les Misérables gift

With a score that doesn’t stop, and lyrics that you’ll never forget (when someone’s prisoner identity is easier to remember than your own PIN number, you know it’s good), the music of Les Misérables is the definition of iconic.

Which is why this illustrated sheet music is perfect for a Les Misérables fan, beautifully capturing the fantastic music, costume design and characters within the story.

And if you don’t know any Les Misérables fans, why not check out this artist’s other work, which includes Harry Potter, Hamilton and the Lion King.

Presents for Matilda fansMatilda at 30

Our favourite feisty bookworm may still be a kid on the stage, but did you know that Matilda is 30 years old?

The writer of the original books, Roald Dahl, published Matilda in 1988, and so to celebrate her milestone birthday, the original illustrator Quentin Blake has drawn her all grown up for special edition copies of the book.

Matilda certainly went onto to have a successful career (just as we’d expect) as Quentin designed three covers with her as a CEO of the British Library, as a world traveller and as an astrophysicist. We’re so proud!
