Celebrating Tina!

We went to down to the Aldwych Theatre for the gala night for Tina – The Tina Turner Musical, thrown to celebrate the new cast! There are two relatively new Tinas who have stepped into that glittery gown to play the Queen of rock and roll herself.

Elesha Paul Moses comes to the role of Tina off the back of a successful music career. Having appeared on The Voice she was mentored by Will.I.Am and Tom Jones as well as Matthew Knowles. She’s written and performed with a whole host of recognisable names including Ku De Ta, Lionel Richie, Nicky Graham and Andy Abraham on his Eurovision performance. She was also the lead of the touring shows Whitney: Queen Of The Night and Tina: What’s Love Got To Do With It, so she’s no stranger to belting those notes.

Kristina Love joins the cast having played Tina in the very first non-English version of the musical in Hamburg. Having grown up in Houston Texas, Kristina moved to Germany and has starred in plenty of other musicals on the continent including Dirty Dancing, Sister Act, Aladdin and The Hunchback Of Notre Dame. If there’s anything more impressive than a musical theatre star it’s one who can perform in more than one language!

Tony from the OLT team had never seen Tina before, so we asked him what he thought of it! He said:

“I’m blown away by the voices, the dancing is incredible and its such a fascinating story. I’d recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a really good night out – it gets a bit darker and more interesting that a regular night out maybe! – but by the end of it you’ll have had such a good time.”

Book your tickets now to see some of your favourite hits like Proud Mary and We Don’t Need Another Hero, and learn a little more about the icon that is Tina Turner.
