Caroline Sheen is getting ready to work 9 to 5, as she temporarily takes over the role of Violet Newstead in the hit musical.

Announcing the news on their social media, the Savoy Theatre said:

Caroline is stepping into the role after Louise badly injured herself on the way to rehearsals last week, forcing her into a recovery process lasting several months.

Caroline will be joining the previously announced all-star cast, which includes Amber Davies (Judy), Natalie McQueen (Doralee), Bonnie Langford (Roz) and Brian Conley (Franklin Hart Jr).

No stranger to the West End, you may recognise Caroline from her roles in hit productions such as Les Miserables, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and The Witches Of Eastwick. She also played the practically perfect role of Mary Poppins on its UK and US tour, so the audience will be in safe hands!

9 To 5 The Musical tells the story of three colleagues who are being pushed to the edge by their sexist, horrible boss, who they decide to bring down. But just as their scheme is about to be put into action, the new CEO arrives, and the plans change dramatically.

Based on the film, and with music by the iconic country singer Dolly Parton, you’ll be singing, “what a way to make a living”, all the way home!

Caroline will play the role of Violet from 28 January until the end of March, when Louise is expected to return.
