Every year we’re told to remember the 5 November. We’re encouraged to go out and watch fireworks with the neighbours we avoid most of the year – just in time for Christmas card swapping season. But what we so conveniently forget is how cold, noisy and short firework displays are. That’s why, this year, we want to remind you that you can get your fill of sparkles and bangs with a West End show.

Disney’s Aladdin
In addition to the expected magic carpet rides, bustling streets and grand palaces, Disney’s Aladdin also has a sparkling Cave Of Wonders scene that’ll leave your jaw on the floor and you asking for more! Packed with gold (naturally), glitter and fireworks, this is one of the glitziest numbers in the West End. While the Genie sings Friend Like Me, you’ll be wondering why you ventured out into that dark field to watch 10 minutes of flashing lights.
Bat Out Of Hell The Musical
If you’re looking for pyrotechnics, Bat Out Of Hell The Musical should be your number one stop. This show is literally on fire! Throughout the show, you’ll be stunned by the special effects and the giant flames reaching from the stage. Honestly, it’ll put that bonfire you saw at the weekend to shame! Throw in some classic rock tunes you know and love and you’re on for one banging night.
Thriller Live
All the tunes from the King Of Pop plus fire, fireworks and confetti? Thriller Live is a party that will top any Guy Fawkes gathering you’ve ever encountered. Not only will you be in the warm and cosy Lyric Theatre, you’ll be able to relive all of Michael Jackson’s greatest hits and dance moves – it’s better than watching Uncle Dave trying to do the Moonwalk after a few too many, don’t you think?
Tina – The Tina Turner Musical
Okay. This one’s a bit of a cheat as real fireworks aren’t used but, with the giant songs of Tina Turner sung live on stage with some sparkly effects, you’re really in for one hell of a display.
Harry Potter And The Cursed Child
We’re bound by the sacred #KeepTheSecret spell. But we can reveal that, as you would expect, Harry Potter And The Cursed Child is full of blinding special effects… and that’s just the pyrotechnics.
