5 things we learnt from the Mamma Mia backstage vlog

By Kitty Underwood First Published 23 February 2022, Last Updated 4 March 2022

1. They do the quickest set change

The guys backstage claim this is the quickest set change in the West End, clocking in at under 5 seconds. We think it’s pretty speedy, can you think of any quicker???

2. Even the backstage crew are bendy

Catching up with Caitlin and Kara, they both say that if they had to pick they’d play Sophie, but Kara’s Pepper-style high-kick is pretty impressive!

3. There’s a whole draw just for sew-on jewels

We spied it in the background of the quick-fire interview with resident director Steven Paling… That’s right, there are so many sew-on gems in the fabulous 70s wardrobe of Mamma Mia that they have their own dedicated drawer.

4. Toast and Jam tea exists?!

The backstage crew show off their exciting tea collection, including biscuit flavour (allegedly a hug in a mug!) and toast and jam flavour Yorkshire Tea, which xx assures us actually tastes like jam and toast!!

5. It’s as big a party off-stage as on-stage

The whole cast and crew look like they’re having so much fun! They all talk about their huge bond as a show and how its all of their dream jobs – it’s so nice to know that they’re having as much of a riot backstage as we are in the audience!
