Hay Fever, which stars Lindsay Duncan, Jeremy Northam, Kevin McNally and Olivia Colman, is Noël Coward’s classic comedy of bad manners.

Set in a country house, Hay Fever follows a weekend with the Bliss family. Mother Judith, once a glittering star of the London stage but now in early retirement, decides to spice up her weekend by inviting a male friend to join her. Unbeknownst to her, her novelist husband David and her two children Simon and Sorel have had exactly the same idea. When four houseguests arrive for the weekend, misjudged meetings, secret seductions and scandalous revelations run riot.

Hay Fever, which was written by Coward in 1924, was last seen in the West End in 2006, when Judi Dench and Peter Bowles led a cast directed by Sir Peter Hall.

Duncan, who leads the cast of this new production of Hay Fever, is a double Olivier Award-winning actress who collected the coveted statuette for her performances in Les Liaisons Dangereuses and another Coward play, Private Lives. Northam is also an Olivier winner, having collected the award for his performance in The Voysey Inheritance.

Though both stage regulars, Hay Fever co-stars McNally and Colman are probably best known for screen performances; McNally as Joshamee Gibbs in The Pirates Of The Caribbean films and Colman as Peep Show’s Sophie.
