Based on the iconic, hit Jack Black film, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Olivier Award-winning stage adaptation School Of Rock – The Musical is leaving audiences rocking night after night at the Gillian Lynne Theatre.

A guitar-thrashing, drum-rolling, rip-roaring celebration of the power of rock, School Of Rock – The Musical tells the story of Dewey Finn, a down-on-his-luck wannabe rock star struggling to make ends meet – and determined to do so through the power of music. Posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school, Finn discovers his students’ hidden musical talents, and opts to enlist his fifth-graders in a quest to conquer The Battle Of The Bands – but can he do so without their parents and the school’s headmistress finding out?

First opening in New York in December 2015, going on to be described by Black as “a Broadway masterpiece”, and thence making its West End debut in November 2016, School Of Rock – The Musical was the recipient of three Olivier Award nominations including Mastercard Best New Musical (winning Outstanding Achievement in Music for the three children’s band, who rock out every night playing live instruments).

The musical features all of the original songs from the acclaimed movie, alongside 14 new songs and music written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyricist Glenn Slater.

Having undergone nationwide auditions to find the country’s finest pint-sized rock star prodigies, School Of Rock features world-class musicians in small sizes. With a book by Julian Fellowes and direction from Laurence Connor, this is a rollicking show guaranteed to have audiences young and old embracing the ear popping, riff scorching and all conquering music of rebellion.

Noel Sullivan is playing the role of Dewey Finn. Noel is best known for his part in the record-breaking pop group Hear’Say, winners of ITV’s hit show Popstars. After the band, Noel went on to carve out a successful career in theatre and television. He was recently seen in the new Russell T Davies drama for BBC1, Years and Years. As a West End actor, his theatre credits include Galileo in We Will Rock You at the Dominion Theatre, Danny Zuko in Grease at the Piccadilly Theatre as well as leading roles in Rock Of Ages, Priscilla Queen Of The Desert, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Fame, Flashdance, Love Shack and many more.  Noel also created the role of Seamus O’Rourke in Tiger Bay The Musical which had its world premiere in Cape Town before a run at the Wales Millennium Centre.

Smoke effects and strobe lights are used during this performance, with strobe lighting being very prominent in the second act. If you think this may affect you or anyone in your party, please get in touch with the Box Office on 020 7087 7750.
