Volleyball star Shauna Mullin visits Rock Of Ages

Volleyball star hits West End

Team GB beach volleyball star Shauna Mullin let off steam after a strenuous first week of the Olympics by rocking out at Rock Of Ages.

The 27-year-old Olympic debutant, who, with her partner Zara Dampney, had the partisan crowds at Horse Guard’s Parade cheering with glee, headed to the hit West End show after the pair was eliminated from the competition.

We’re sure she’d say she digs the show and that she received anything but a spikey reception at the Shaftesbury theatre, where she and the rest of the audience had a ball.

Mullin who, with Dampney, beat the Canadian team but lost to Italy, Russia and Austria, shook off any post-Olympic blues by enjoying an evening at Rock Of Ages, the tale of 80s love filled with guitar-thrashing, big hair-waving, soft rock classics, following a day of shopping around the West End and dinner at Soho’s Brasserie Zédel.

She’s just one of the many athletes and Olympic visitors taking advantage of the fantastic shows and experiences on offer in the West End this summer. You can find more information about productions, offers and travel in our Theatre 2012 section.
