Michael Jackson tribute Thriller Live is to provide the West End with another year of the King of Pop’s greatest hits after announcing it has extended its run at the Lyric Theatre until 19 April 2015.

The crowd-pleasing show opened in January 2009 and has already played more than 2,000 performances in the West End.

Talking about the production’s extension, theatre owner and Chief Executive of Nimax Theatres Nica Burns said: “Thriller Live brings people together from all walks of life to celebrate the genius of Michael Jackson and his incredible music. They go home singing and dancing. No wonder the show holds the record for the longest ever run in the Lyric Theatre’s 125-year history. It may yet double its own record!”

Now in its sixth year in London, Thriller Live combines eye-popping video footage and special effects with some of the legendary recording artist’s most popular songs including I Want You Back, I’ll Be There, Can You Feel It, Rock With You, Thriller, Beat It, ABC, Man In The Mirror, Dirty Diana, Billie Jean and Earth Song.

Thriller Live will be joined at the Lyric Theatre later this year by family favourite The Tiger Who Came To Tea, which will play daytime performances alongside the tribute concert from 2 July to 7 September.
