Introducing Josh Piterman – your new Phantom Of The Opera himself! Josh will join the cast of the hit Andrew Lloyd Webber musical from this September, as part of several cast changes.

With the immortal musical heading into its 34th West End year, the iconic role will be played by Australian singer and performer Josh, whose self-titled debut solo album last year reached Number 1 in the Australian Classical Crossover iTunes chart. He’s also plenty of prestige in the Australian musical theatre scene, having played Tony in West Side Story, Jamie in The Last Five Years, and Edward in Blood Brothers.

While The Phantom Of The Opera isn’t Josh’s UK debut – he played Corny Collins in the recent national tour of Hairspray – it does mark an extraordinary West End bow for him. He begins performances on 9 September.

Also joining the cast will be Britt Lenting – a fellow West End debutant who you may recognise from BBC One’s All Together Now – as Carlotta Giudicelli, and Richard Woodford (We Will Rock You, West End) as Monsieur André.

The continuing cast sees Danny Whitehead move into the role of Raoul, with Bridget Costello moving into the role of alternate Christine. Kelly Mathieson will carry on as Christine Daaé, Ross Dawes as Monsieur Firmin, Jacinta Mulcahy as Madame Giry, Paul Ettore Tabone as Ubaldo Piangi, Georgia Ware as Meg Giry, and Scott Davies as the standby Phantom.

The Phantom Of The Opera cast will be completed by Zoe Arshamian, Matthew Barrow, James Butcher, Grace Castle, Sophie Caton, Sophie Cottrill, Corinne Cowling, Hadrian Delacey, Morven Douglas, Paul Erbs, Philip Griffiths, Katy Hanna, Ellen Jackson, Adam Robert Lewis, Kris Manuel, Tim Morgan, Danielle Pullum, Rebecca Ridout, Eleanor Sanderson-Nash, Anna Shircliff, Alistair So, John Stacey, Manon Taris, Andrei Teodor Iliescu, Ben Tyler, Claire Tilling, Victoria Ward and Simon Whitaker.

The show is the only one in history to have enjoyed 30 years on both sides of the Atlantic, telling the story of a disfigured musical genius who attracts a young protégé named Christine – only for passions to explode into jealousy, madness, bloodshed and tragedy.
