Theatre Makers of the future assemble!: Daniel Walker, Head of Armoury

Published 17 October 2018

TheatreCraft 2018 is just over one month away – so get the date of Monday 19 November in your diary, because it’s the UK’s largest free careers event for young people interested in offstage theatre jobs!

Ahead of the event, we’ve asked the six inspiring theatre makers who front the TheatreCraft 2018 campaign to give some insights into their chosen careers, the best advice they got when starting out, and why careers events like TheatreCraft are worth attending. Our first interview was with producer Debbie Hicks, and our second with Lighting Designer Rajiv Pattani, and our third with Company Manager Sunita Hinduja.

Next up in this fortnightly video series is Daniel Walker, Head of Armoury at the Royal Opera House, who chatted to us about starting out in his career, inspiring advice he’s received and why TheatreCraft is so important for young people looking for guidance and ideas about an offstage job in theatre.

TheatreCraft 2018 will take place on Monday 19 November, 9.30am-4.30pm, at the Waldorf Hilton Hotel.

If you’re aged 16-30 and want to explore the different theatre jobs behind the curtain, book your free place on the TheatreCraft website.
