Former child pop star Cleo Higgins, who made a big impression on Will.i.am in BBC talent show The Voice, will be comin’ atcha in the West End, when she joins the London cast of Thriller Live from 24 June.

The singer, one third of 1990s pop group Cleopatra alongside her sisters Yonah and Zainam, joins the production at the Lyric Theatre having received rave reviews for her performance in the touring production.

Like Michael Jackson, whose songs take centre stage in the long-running musical spectacular, Higgins was a child star. A teenager at the height of her fame, Higgins recorded three top five hits, starred in two TV series and supported The Spice Girls on tour alongside her siblings.

In Thriller Live, she will star as one of four lead vocalists who divide the back catalogue of the King of Pop between them. Among the hit songs featured in the show, which first opened on Shaftesbury Avenue in 2009, are I Want You Back, Rock With You, Beat It, Billie Jean and the title track.

Speaking about Jackson, Higgins said: ““I’m a huge Michael Jackson fan and I identify with him. I’m an 80s baby – I come from the same era. We celebrate his incredible legacy in Thriller Live. His songs will never die.”
