West End audiences have been getting to know The King And I over the summer and now, for one night only, the rest of the world can get acquainted with the multi-Tony Award-winning production because it’s hitting a silver screen near you.

On Friday 29 November, cinemas across the globe will be showing the magnificent musical. The performance will be recorded at the iconic London Palladium during the show’s West end run. It’ll be your final chance to see Kelli O’Hara and Ken Watanabe in these iconic roles as the show closes on 29 September.

The Roger and Hammerstein classic is set in the 1860s and tells the story of a British teacher named Anna who is hired by the modernist King of Siam to teach his many wives and children English. But this appointment leads to a bitter conflict – and, secretly, a burgeoning love – between the two, neither of whom are prepared to admit their feelings.

It’s original Broadway run opened in 2015 where it played for 16 months before going on a record-breaking, sold-out tour of the US. The strictly limited run at the London Palladium opened in June where it received a flood of five-star reviews.

The three stars who have played the lead characters in the original Broadway production have reprised their roles for the London audience. You can see Tony Award-winner (Best Performance By An Actress In A Leading Role In A Musical for The King And I) Kelli O’Hara, Tony and Oscar nominee Ken Watanabe and Tony Award-winner (Best Performance By An Actress In A Featured Role In A Musical for The King And I) Ruthie Ann Miles. Plus, see the rest of the incredible cast comprising 50 performers including Dean John-Wilson (Disney’s Aladdin), Na-Young Jeon (Les Mis), and Takao Osawa.

Tickets to this one-off screening of the critically-acclaimed musical are now on sale here.
