Sullivan Rocks show’s 10th birthday

Former Hear’Say singer Noel Sullivan is to join the London production of hit musical We Will Rock You next month, replacing Alex Gaumond in the role of Galileo.

The performer, who rose to fame in TV talent search Pop Stars in 2001, has already played the role on more than 300 occasions with the UK tour of the popular Queen musical, but will take to the Dominion stage for the first time when he steps into Gaumond’s shoes on 20 February.

Though Sullivan’s first taste of stardom came as part of a manufactured pop band alongside Myleene Klass and Kim Marsh, the former choirboy has since built an enviable musical theatre career, performing in productions including Fame, Grease and Flashdance.

Sullivan joins a cast that includes Over The Rainbow runner-up Lauren Samuels, former X Factor contestant Brenda Edwards, Kevin Kennedy, Rachel John, Alasdair Harvey and Wayne Robinson. He will stay with the production until October, leading it through its 10th birthday on 14 May and the Olympic period, during which, the show has confirmed, the production will perform to its normal schedule.

We Will Rock You, which tells the story of a world where rock music is banned set to a score by much-loved Brit rockers Queen, has been seen by nearly six million theatregoers at the Dominion theatre and more than 13 million people worldwide.
