David Suchet will provide the voice of Aslan in threesixty’s production of The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe, which previews from tonight in Kensington Gardens.
Suchet’s roar will be heard alongside the ice cold tones of Sally Dexter as the evil White Witch in threesixty’s revolutionary tent until 9 September.
CS Lewis’s classic tale, which is adapted by Rupert Goold, will also star Forbes Masson as Mr Tumnus, Brian Protheroe as the Professor and Carly Bawden, Rebecca Benson, Philip Labey and Jonny Weldon as the Pevensie children.
The innovative new production uses ground-breaking surround video and enchanting puppetry to bring to life the tale of four siblings who embark on a magical journey, through a wardrobe, to the enchanted land of Narnia.
Suchet, who is currently appearing in Long Day’s Journey Into Night at the Apollo theatre, is best known for his role as Agatha Christie’s famous Belgian detective in Poirot, but has recently been seen on stage in Arthur Miller’s All My Sons, also at the Apollo, Complicit at the Old Vic and Once In A Lifetime at the National Theatre.
Threesixty’s new production of The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe, which is directed by Goold and Michael Fentiman, follows the success of its previous tent-based show, Peter Pan, in 2009.
