Class will soon be in session for Admissions, and Miranda star Sarah Hadland will be joining for the term.

Sarah will be joining the already announced Alex Kingston (ER, Doctor Who) in the award-winning comedy when the show opens at London’s Trafalgar Studios on 28 February.

Sarah Hadland will play the role of Ginnie in Admissions

Playing the role of Ginnie in Admissions, Sarah is already well known for her role as Stevie in the BAFTA nominated BBC show, Miranda. Although this won’t be Sarah’s first steps onto a Theatreland stage, having previously appeared in productions of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Grease, Time and the Conways and What’s In a Name?

Other casting announcements include Andrew Wooddall (Bill), Margot Leicester (Roberta) and Ben Edelman (Charlie). Ben as previously played the role of Charlie before, having performed it in the show’s New York run at the Lincoln Centre Theater.

Admissions focuses on the dilemma faced by Sherri, a Head of Admissions at a private school, who’s passionate about having diversity in her school. But when her own son doesn’t get a university place, and his best friend does because he “ticks more boxes”, her ambitions and beliefs collide.

Admissions was a huge success over the pond when it initially premiered in New York, winning the Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for Best Play and getting rave reviews. Directed by Daniel Aukin, the show is written by Joshua Harmon, who also penned the hit production, Bad Jews.

Playing for a limited season at the Trafalgar Studios, Admissions is in the West End until 25 May before embarking on a UK tour.
