In rehearsal: The Royal Ballet’s La Bayadère

Featuring one of the most demanding sequences in classic ballet, The Royal Ballet’s production of La Bayadère begins performances next week – and we’ve been treated to a sneak peek into the rehearsal room.

As part of the production, The Royal Ballet’s corps de ballet will be performing The Kingdom Of The Shades, where all 24 corps de ballet dancers move in complete synchronicity – requiring perfection of poise and an abundance of skill to make the whole thing look effortless.

Natalia Makarova’s production of the 19th-century classic ballet La Bayadère promises to transform the Royal Opera House into a marvellous world, where temple dancers and noble warriors spring to life.

Enjoy the rehearsal images below, and head on over to The Royal Ballet’s website to book – performances begin Thursday 1 November 2018.
