Actress Siobhan Redmond is to join the previously announced Ian McDiarmid and Charlie Cox in the Donmar Warehouse’s summer production of Heinrich von Kleist’s The Prince Of Homburg.
The 19th century tale of honour, courage, ambition and love will also feature David Burke, Sonya Cassidy, Simon Coates, Jolyon Coy, Harry Hadden-Paton, William Hoyland, Mark Theodore, Julian Wadham and Lizzie Winkler.
Redmond’s last London outing came earlier this year when she led the cast of the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Dunsinane at the Hampstead theatre. The Scottish performer has worked with the RSC, National Theatre and Shakespeare’s Globe, while her television credits include cult comedies The Smoking Room and The High Life.
Theodore is also a regular performer with the RSC, while Winkler has worked extensively with the National Theatre, Hoyland’s CV includes a host of Tricycle theatre credits and Burke returns to the Donmar Warehouse, where he has previously appeared in productions including John Gabriel Borkman and Mary Stuart.
Coy and Haddon-Paton both join the cast having recently appeared in Laura Wade’s Posh at the Royal Court, while Wadham spent the earlier part of 2010 appearing alongside Judi Dench in A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Rose theatre, Kingston.
