This year’s Kids Week is off to a record-breaking start with an incredible 116,000 tickets snapped up in the first 24 hours alone.

The even better news is that there are still more than 140,000 tickets available for anyone wanting to take advantage of our kids go free ticket campaign offering a child aged 16 or younger the chance to see a top London show for free with every adult ticket purchased, plus up to a further two children’s tickets available at half price.

More than 40 shows are taking part in this year’s festival of family theatergoing that runs for performances throughout the whole month of August. Now in its 18th year, Kids Week has amassed a huge following and every year introduces thousands of young people to the magic of theatre.

Commenting on the extraordinary first day of sales, Julian Bird, Chief Executive of Society of London Theatre, the organisation behind Official London Theatre and Kids Week, said: “I am delighted Kids Week has once again achieved phenomenal figures in the first 24 hours of sales, providing further evidence of year-on-year growth. The London theatre industry really embraces Kids Week to offer unrivalled opportunities for children to take centre stage every August, often giving them their first experience of the magic of live theatre.”

To put the sensational record-breaking number in context, 116,000 people would fill the London Palladium more than 50 times over, pack Wimbledon’s Centre Court out for over a week and even come close to selling out festive behemoth Glastonbury with its capacity of 135,000.

Anyone yet to purchase their Kids Week tickets can do so now at www.kidsweek.co.uk with numerous shows and associated exclusive workshops, events and Q&As still available.
