Following a first day of booking that broke all opening day Kids Week records, the annual festival of theatrical family fun has extended its summer frivolity for an extra week and will now run from 12 August to 4 September.

A whopping 27,880 tickets were sold on Tuesday 12 July, when booking opened for the 14th annual Kids Week in the West End, surpassing last year’s opening day sales by more than 5,000.

The extension of the popular promotion gives kids and families even longer to take advantage of its fabulous offer. During Kids Week, a child aged up to 16-years-old can go free to participating shows with every full paying adult. A further two children can also attend for half price.

In addition to its incredible ticket deal, Kids Week gives young theatregoers the chance to get involved with the London theatre scene, with free workshops, activities and events hosted by participating shows.

Among the shows taking part in 2011 are well-loved long runners such as Billy Elliot The Musical, Wicked and Stomp, hit comedy The 39 Steps and acclaimed dramas including Pygmalion.
