Rachel Tucker, one of the world’s favourite Elphaba’s, will douse herself in green paint once more as she returns to the London production of Wicked in September to lead the show’s 10th anniversary cast.

Tucker is joined in the new cast, which takes over duties in the magical land of Oz from 5 September, by original Doctor Dillamond, Martin Ball, and original Nessarose, Katie Rowley Jones.

Suzie Mathers, who previously appeared in the Australian production of the hit musical, flies in to play Glinda, while Oliver Savile continues as Fiyero and the great Anita Dobson joins as Madame Morrible.

Speaking about the new cast, which will also include Mark Curry, Idriss Kargbo and Alice Fearn and Carina Gillespie as standby Elphaba and Glinda, Executive Producer Michael McCabe said: “We are delighted to announce the fantastic company that will lead us through the 10th birthday celebrations at the Apollo Victoria Theatre later this year. It is a great pleasure to welcome back from Broadway the incredible Rachel Tucker who will star alongside Suzi Mathers, who appeared in the Australian production, as Elphaba and Glinda. Surrounding them will be many exciting new faces, including the incomparable Anita Dobson as Madame Morrible, and celebrated alumni, including the return of original cast member Martin Ball as Doctor Dillamond.”

Wicked, which began its West End run on 7 September 2006, tells the – until 10 years ago – untold story of the witches of Oz, and how two very different sorcery student became unlikely friends before fate, and unscrupulous magical types, intervened.

Current cast members Emma Hatton, Savannah Stevenson, Liza Sadovy, Sean Kearns, Daniel Hope and Natalie Andreou all play their final performances on 3 September.
