It’s fair to say that Philip Ridley’s Vincent River is a stunning play which provides no shortage of talking points. Luckily for audiences, they’re set to be thoroughly mulled over at two newly-announced post-show discussions in the West End.
Discussing the play’s themes of hate crime on Tuesday 4 June will be Emma Miller McCaffrey from Diversity Role Models, whose mission is to embed inclusion and empathy in the next generation; and Will Mayrick, a victim of homophobic and transphobic hate crime on the Tube in October 2017, who bravely shares his story to embolden others. The evening will be hosted by Terri Paddock.
The second discussion will feature Vincent River’s playwright himself, Philip Ridley, who’ll be talking with the show’s producer Danielle Tarento about the show and his other thought-provoking works, which include The Pitchfork Disney, Mercury Fur and Tender Napalm. That event will take place on Wednesday 12 June.
Vincent River recently opened in the West End to critical acclaim, having transferred from the Park Theatre. It now plays at Trafalgar Studios until 22 June.
