The 39th Olivier Awards with MasterCard will take place on 12 April 2015 with the prestigious ceremony returning to the stunning surroundings of the Royal Opera House.
Further information about the sparkling cast of stars, who will present the ceremony and, of course, the nominees themselves, will be revealed in the weeks leading up to the awards.
The Olivier Awards, which continues its partnership with MasterCard, returns to the Covent Garden’s iconic Royal Opera House for a fourth year running, following this year’s glittering evening of celebration that was attended by an incredible host of theatre legends and respected performers.
Highlights of 2014’s ceremony included exclusive live performances from 2014’s MasterCard Best New Musical nominated shows, Broadway icon Bernadette Peters and the company of Mamma Mia, who were joined by ABBA’s Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus to celebrate the musical’s 15th birthday.
Shows that were awarded one of the evening’s coveted statuettes included acclaimed play Chimerica, which took home a staggering five awards, infamous musical The Book Of Mormon and Richard Eyre’s much talk about production of Ghosts. The drama’s star Lesley Manville contributed to this success collecting the Best Actress gong, while Rory Kinnear picked up the Best Actor prize for his high-profile role in the National Theatre’s Othello.
