Nicholas Lyndhurst & Cassidy Janson join Man Of La Mancha cast

As Only Fools and Horses comes into the West End, it seems rather fitting that one of the show’s original cast members has been announced for the upcoming production of Man Of La Mancha at the London Coliseum.

That’s right, Nicholas Lyndhurst will be joining the already announced cast of Kelsey Grammer and Danielle de Niese, playing the Innkeeper and the Captain. As well as his successful TV work which has earned him BAFTAs (Goodnight Sweetheart, New Tricks), Nicholas has previously appeared in the West End in the Grade/Linnit production of Carousel at The Coliseum and Trevor Nunn’s The Tempest at the Theatre Royal Haymarket.

And the exciting cast announcements don’t stop there either! Musical sensation Cassidy Janson will also be in the show, sharing the role of Aldonza and Dulcinea with Danielle de Niese. Danielle will be performing in 33 performances, while Cassidy will take the lead in 17 shows.

A powerhouse of a performer, you may have seen Cassidy playing the lead roles in last year’s productions of Chess and Beautiful: The Carole King Story. She is also one-third of Leading Ladies, a group formed in 2017 with fellow musical superstars, Beverly Knight and Amber Riley.

Man Of La Mancha has actually been away from Theatreland for some time, as this is the first West End production in over 50 years!

With music by the English National Opera’s 35 piece orchestra, the show is inspired by Miguel de Cervantes’ tale of Don Quixote. The story revolves around a haphazard knight on a fantastical quest with his servant Sancho Panza. Featuring iconic songs that you’ll never get out of your head, including ‘Dream the Impossible Dream’, you’re going to love this story of chivalry, knighthood, love, loyalty and adventure.

A collaboration with the English National Opera, the show is being produced by Michael Linnit and Michael Grade. This dynamic duo are no strangers to the London Coliseum, having brought other successful shows there, including Chess, Carousel, Sunset Boulevard and Sweeney Todd. Somewhat of a reunion between the producers and the director of the show, Lonny Price also directed their production of Sunset Boulevard.

Man Of La Mancha will run for a limited season at the London Coliseum from 26 April – 8 June 2019. Tickets are available NOW.
