Michelle Terry to star in Privacy

Olivier Award-winning actress Michelle Terry will star in James Graham’s new play Privacy when it receives its world premiere at the Donmar Warehouse next month.

Playing from 10 April to 31 May, Privacy is inspired by the recent revelations of Edward Snowden and draws on interviews with journalists, politicians and analysts to investigate the digital age and how much we give away when we share.

Terry, who took home one of London theatre’s most coveted accolades for her role in 2010’s Tribes at the Royal Court, returns to the Donmar Warehouse for the first time since her appearance in The Man Who Had All The Luck in 2008. More recently, she has appeared in A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Shakespeare’s Globe, Before The Party at the Almeida Theatre and In The Republic Of Happiness at the Royal Court.

The acclaimed actress will be joined in the cast by Nina Sosanya, Paul Chahidi, Gunnar Cauthery, Jonathan Coy and Joshua McGuire.

While Last Tango In Halifax star Sosanya returns to the Donmar Warehouse following her performance in 2002’s The Vortex, her co-stars Chahidi, Cauthery, Coy and McGuire will all be performing on stage at the Covent Garden venue for the first time in Privacy.

2013 Olivier Award nominee Chahidi was last seen on the London stage in Shakespeare’s Globe’s acclaimed double bill of Twelfth Night and Richard III, while Coy recently appeared in The Magistrate at the National Theatre. McGuire, who appeared alongside Coy in the NT’s 2012 production of Arthur Wing Pinero’s farce and with Terry in the Bush Theatre’s Sixty Six Books, also appeared recently in acclaimed Royal Court drama Posh. Cauthery will take to the stage in Graham’s new play having worked on the playwright’s Olivier Award nominated hit This House at the National Theatre.

Directed by Donmar Warehouse’s Artistic Director Josie Rourke, Privacy will open following the current run of Peter Gill’s Versailles, which closes on 5 April.
