Simon Lipkin has become the latest high-profile addition to the Guys And Dolls cast, taking on the role of hapless gambler Nathan Detroit opposite Hollywood star Rebel Wilson.

With Nigel Lindsay’s month-long appearance in the Olivier Award-nominated musical due to conclude later this month, Lipkin will join the cast from 28 June to 21 August to coincide with Wilson’s limited season as his romantic interest, the larger-than-life nightclub singer Miss Adelaide.

The first image of Wilson in the iconic role has also been released.

Fans of the Chichester Festival Theatre’s vibrant, effervescent and heart-warming production of the classic musical will be excited to welcome Lipkin, who has proven his comic abilities as the titular character in The Lorax at The Old Vic Theatre, Lou Lubowitz in Miss Atomic Bomb and roles in Avenue Q, Rock Of Ages and I Can’t Sing.

Lipkin himself has expressed his delight with the exciting announcement:

The current cast of Guys And Dolls includes both Lindsay and the double Olivier Award-winning Samantha Spiro, who will both play their final show on 26 June.

The highly acclaimed production, set in Prohibition-era New York and telling the hilarious story of Nathan’s desperate attempts to raise money for an illegal dice game while placating fiancée-of-14-years Miss Adelaide, has received widespread critical acclaim following its transfer to the West End.
