Big The Musical is getting bigger as more stars join the cast of the upcoming production.

This morning it was announced that Wendi Peters, Kimberley Walsh and Matthew Kelly will be joining The Wanted’s Jay McGuiness as Mrs Baskin, Susan Lawrence and George MacMillan respectively.

Based on the classic 80s film starring Tom Hanks, Big The Musical will tell the story of 12-year-old Josh Baskin who gets more than he bargained for when he suddenly becomes an adult after his wish to be big is granted by a mysterious Zoltar machine. But can a 12-year-old really make it in the business world? How about his love life?

Wendi Peters is best known for her role as Cilla Battersby Brown in Coronation Street as well as her work in theatre including her turns in The Mystery Of Edwin Drood, Grumpy Old Women Live 2 – Chin Up Britain, Vagina Monologues, and White Christmas.

Kimberley Walsh rose to prominence in the record-breaking girl band Girls Aloud. As well as her TV and music career, she’s starred in the West End as Princess Fiona in Shrek The Musical, Jovie in Elf The Musical, and joined Denise Van Outen at Cadogan Hall in Sweet Charity.

Matthew Kelly’s many television credits include the award-winning thriller Cold Blood, Benidorm, Bleak House and Moving On, although he is probably best known for presenting You Bet! and Stars In Their Eyes.

Big The Musical is opening at the Dominion Theatre from 6 September to 2 November 2019, with a Gala Night in aid of Make-A-Wish on Tuesday 17 September. If you want to see Jay McGuiness before that, you can catch him in Rip It Up – The 60s at the Garrick Theatre.
