In rehearsal: The Same Deep Water As Me

Have you had an accident at work? The Same Deep Water As Me could help you.

Okay, it probably won’t win you a multi million pound compensation pay out, but the new play by rising star of the theatre world Nick Payne will take you inside the office of a personal injuries lawyer faced with the opportunity of a quick win when his high school nemesis reappears in his life.

There is more than a little expectation sitting on the shoulders of Payne, director John Crowley and a cast including Daniel Mays, Nigel Lindsay and Marc Wootton, as the playwright’s last piece, Constellations, received glowing review after glowing review, transferred from the Royal Court to the West End and won Payne the Evening Standard Award for Best Play.

Yet there’s not the merest flicker of pressure in this gallery of fantastic images taken by photographer Johan Persson, who was given exclusive access to the rehearsal room for the Donmar Warehouse’s latest production.
