In rehearsal: One Night In Miami…

The cast and director of One Night In Miami… are busy preparing for its opening performance in just under two weeks, and judging by these rehearsal pictures, they are having a blast.

The show is a fictional account of a real night in 1964: 22-year-old Cassius Clay (who the world would soon come to know as Muhammad Ali) has just won the world heavyweight boxing title. Instead of hitting the town, he chooses to celebrate in a Miami hotel room with three close friends – activist Malcolm X, singer Sam Cooke and American football star Jim Brown.

One Night In Miami… imagines what might have happened in that tiny hotel room. As the Civil Rights movement stirs outside, and the melody of A Change Is Gonna Come hangs in the air, four men will emerge from that one night ready to define a new world.  Kwame Kwei-Armah returns to the UK to direct the show, which runs at the Donmar Warehouse from 6 October to 3 December.

Tickets can be booked from the Donmar Warehouse directly.
