In rehearsal: Fatal Attraction

Published 21 February 2014

Since Trevor Nunn’s production of Fatal Attraction was announced back in September, we’ve been wondering how you can take such an iconic movie and make it work on stage.

There must be a huge amount of pressure on the cast, which includes film star Natascha McElhone, Sex And The City’s Kristin Davis, and stage and screen actor Mark Bazeley, to get it right, following as they are in the footsteps of screen greats such as Michael Douglas and Glenn Close.

The tale of New York lawyer Dan Gallagher and his weekend affair with a bunny-boiling editor that turns nasty when he tries to call it off opens at the Theatre Royal Haymarket next month.

If you, like us, are unable to wait until then, take a look at the gallery from photographer Helen Murray, who sneaked into rehearsals to give us an insight into how the production is coming along.

Judging from the images, McElhone is well on her way to perfecting that psychotic stare made famous by Close in the 1987 film.
